Island traded for New York

Run island in Indonesia ( Banda Islands) was exchanged by Britain with Dutch for New Amsterdam, which is currently called New York. So this small 3km long island was equivalent to New York in barter. Who says history isn't strange

Hindu majority princely state that acceded to Pakistan

Princely state of Amarkot is an interesting case. It had a hindu majority population but had acceded to Pakistan during partition. Seems to be because of the king's love for Sind and hatred for Congress.
